As the Associate Set Designer and Props Master, I designed and fabricated props for the world premiere of BalletX’sThe Little Prince at The Wilma Theater in 2019. My props supported Annabelle Lopez Ochoa and the company’s playful choreography and added pops of color to Matt Saunders’s stark and dreamlike scenic design. My contributions included flapping origami bird puppets, a snakeskin cane, a puzzle map, a briefcase filled with stars, papier-mâché beer bottles, a box of flowing ribbon, and a crown. And lots of props on sticks: a crown, sun, moon, miniature plane, globe, and stars.
